Original MAGURA 9.P brake pads - organic compound - Performance. These are two plates joined into one and with hooks for securely catching in the stirrup in place of the fixing bolts. The MAGURA Performance model pads are designed for those looking for great dispensing ability and stable performance in dry and wet conditions. MAGURA 8.P Performance pads are designed for everyday riding. The pads offer the security of smooth braking action and ample stopping power. The pads can be fitted to MT5 / MT5 PRO / MT5 eSTOP / MT5e / MT7 / MT7 PRO / MT7 HC3 / MT7 Raceline / MT TRAIL SPORT (front) / MT TRAIL SL (front) / MT C5.
Thanks to their characteristics, these pads will serve you well all year round and deliver the same stable performance in all conditions. Don't expect extreme bite, but definitely no brake slippage either. Performance is very well proportioned with these pads and will not let you down all year round.
To achieve maximum braking performance, all newly fitted pads need to be run in, an important process that should not be skipped! If the pads are not seated, the pad surface can "glass", which seriously affects the frictional properties of the pads and leads to a deterioration in braking performance.
For this purpose, choose a flat/non-slippery surface without traffic. Run the bike at a speed of approx. 30 km/h. Slow down to a stop with one brake. Brake firmly, but not into a skid. Repeat this procedure at least 30 times with each brake separately. The brake pads and discs will engage and provide optimum braking performance.
Sintered pads take much longer to break in than organic compound (resin) pads. Keep this in mind when purchasing sintered compound pads and extend your break-in time! In general, the more durable the pad compound, the longer the pads will take to run in. Brakes will reach their full to potential after a few runs!
The limit when MAGURA pads are considered worn or require replacement with new ones is if they are less than 2.5mm high (including the carrier base).
If the pads have less than this amount of compound, we recommend replacing them immediately with new ones to avoid damage to the braking system or injury to the rider!
