MDR-P Center Lock

The MAGURA MDR-P Center Lock brake disc is a semi-floating type of disc. Semi-floating discs are a specific group of discs that find their application in the most demanding conditions, on long descents and under high temperature loads. MAGURA offers semi-floating discs, which consist of an inner aluminium carrier and an outer steel brake ring. The main advantage of this design is that it prevents the transfer of heat from the brake and pads to the central part of the disc and its spokes, which can cause the disc to twist and thus reduce the quality of braking performance. The large temperature differences in conventional discs between the outer brake ring and the inner spokes are handled much better by MAGURA semi-floating discs, as the outer steel brake ring is free to expand and does not affect the inner pad. MAGURA MDR-P discs have a thickness of 2.0mm.
