Brake HOPE Tech 4 Trial Zone | kevlar hose | black-black

The HOPE Tech 4 Trial Zone disc brake is based on more than 25 years of experience in the design and manufacture of hydraulic brake systems. This new brake offers a 30% increase in power over the previous Tech 3 model - which really shows in the resulting braking performance! The Tech 4 system uses an all new internal seal to reduce friction and the pivot connecting the brake body and lever pivots on roller bearings, allowing for reduced friction as well as end lever wobble. The reduced lever wobble, in turn, provides a lighter lever action, which reduces fatigue on the rider's fingers and hand and maintains the legendary feeling of power and modulation for which HOPE is known among riders. The new riveted sleeve increases safety, reduces weight and overall height!

Please note that this brake is designed specifically for trial / biketrial / cyclotrial or street-trial use. Use on other types of bikes or sport disciplines is not recommended due to the very high and rapid onset of braking power compared to other HOPE Tech 4 models! This HOPE brake has specifically reduced power modulation due to the modified inner diameter of the caliper pistons! This makes it impossible to use the brake on other types of bikes as injury could occur!

Brake lever - master cylinder

• HOPE Tech 4 brake lever made of high quality and strong aluminium compound
• manufactured as is tradition with HOPE on CNC machines
• possibility of adjusting the lever step (distance of the pads from the disc by pushing the lever piston) and also the distance of the lever from the handlebars
• adjustment of the lever step and distance can be done while driving without tools (using the adjusting screws on the lever)
• the lever on the HOPE Tech 4 has been lengthened, resulting in a 30% increase in oversteer and brake performance
• the lever is newly attached to the body with a coupling screw and a small nut on the underside
• the connection between the lever and the lever body is now also equipped with a bearing, which allows for a tighter and stronger tightening = reduced lever wobble
• reduced lever wobble results in smoother operation = less fatigue for the rider's fingers/forearms
• new shape of expansion tank and new shape of sealing diaphragm
• the internal sand seal has been modified to reduce friction and thus smoother lever operation
• a new type of handlebar sleeve with a connecting rivet where weight reduction and profile reduction have been achieved and increased safety
• the lever sleeve offers the possibility of attaching the shifter to the sleeve using an adapter (sold separately) with a 30° tilt option see manual HOPE shifter adapter
• black colour of the lever and all components (set screws, cap, ...., which can be exchanged for coloured ones - sold separately)

Brake caliper

• The HOPE Tech 4 Trial Zone brake caliper is again made from a single piece of solid aluminium
• the hose outlet is fitted with a guide stop
• the HOPE Trial Zone caliper is a 2-piston caliper with large 25mm pistons
• the caliper mounting is standard PM (Post Mount) with two adjustable screws
• caliper now comes with new brake pad compound (RACE organic - red) see HOPE pad compound manual
• black colour of caliper and also piston nuts (can be exchanged for coloured ones - sold separately)

Hose and brake medium

• the brake is supplied with kevlar HOPE hose in black as standard
• the hose is connected to the caliper and lever by a screw fitting and the brake is completely filled with oil
• the HOPE Tech 4 brake is designed to use DOT 4 or DOT 5.1 fluid (never substitute mineral oil which can damage the seal system!)
• unshortened hose length 170cm (including connection fitting)

Recommended rotor

• we recommend using the original HOPE Trial disc rotor with a diameter of 160-180mm
• alternatively, other HOPE steel discs can be used (but not floating!)
• the disc rotor is not included in the brake package and is sold separately!

Brake weight

• weight of complete brake including M6 fixing screws to frame / fork = 283g
