Disc brake rotor MAGURA MDR-P Center Lock
The great MAGURA MDR-P disc is designed for the most demanding applications such as enduro, downhill and electric bikes. Increased braking surface of the outer ring and an aluminium inner ring that dissipates heat better. Due to the increased surface area, pad wear has been reduced by 15% and modulation of braking performance is also increased. Compared to conventional discs, this disc increases braking performance by 10% to 20% (depending on the disc size). It is a semi-floating disc that allows axial movement of the outer ring - the braking half of the disc. This floating design better copes with temperature changes on the outer ring, making it larger when heated, thus reducing the possibility of the disc bending under high loads.

Note
The maximum tightening torque of the hub Center Lock lock ring supplied with the disc is 40 N·m (354 lbf·in) - do not exceed the maximum tightening torque as this could damage the aluminium central carrier and cause serious injury!
Be Aware
Because the disc is semi-floating, there is still a small clearance between the rivet and the washer in relation to other parts such as the outer ring and the central carrier. During the use of the brake disc and as it wears, it is normal to notice some rotational play between the outer ring and the central carrier or rivets! However, this rotational clearance should not be more than 1mm, otherwise the disc will have to be replaced due to already high wear! This behaviour of the brake disc (rotational play) is not a defect, but a manufacturing feature that allows the outer ring to move more freely in relation to the aluminium central carrier, thus making it more resistant to temperature changes between the outer and central carrier of the disc, which could otherwise cause it to bend.
