Replacement brake pad locking pin for HOPE brake calipers. The purpose of the bolt is to securely lock the pads in the caliper to prevent them from sliding out of the brake caliper. The bolt is made of steel and has a small fine thread that screws into the caliper to secure it to the caliper. At the end of the bolt there is a small hole for inserting a small cotter pin (spare part HOPE HBSP171), which serves as a secondary locking element. The bolt can be screwed into the caliper using an inbus (hey) key.
