Brakes MAGURA MT5 eSTOP + Rotors MAGURA MDR-P CL (203+203mm)

The MAGURA MT5 eSTOP disc brake is an improved entry-level 4-piston model from the MAGURA MT brake family. It is a 4-piston brake with increased stopping power and better cooling compared to the 2-piston version. This brake set is particularly suitable for All-Mountain, Trail and Enduro electric bikes. The brake is very light thanks to the use of the unique Carbotecture® material for the lever. MAGURA MT brakes are adapted for MAGURA Royal Blood mineral oil. MAGURA gives a 5 year warranty against fluid leakage due to leaks (valid when using original parts and MAGURA Royal Blood mineral oil).

Brake lever

• the brake lever body is made of a unique Carbotecture® material developed by the company. MAGURA for its MT brakes
• the brake comes with a 2-finger aluminium lever with excellent modulation and high power transmission thanks to the longer lever
• the detachable handlebar sleeve is made of aluminium alloy (the lever can be removed without removing the grips)
• the sleeve can be exchanged for a shiftmix type to mount Shimano or Sram shifters (sold separately)
• lever is equipped with EBT bleed screw (Easy Bleed Technology) for easy bleeding (see video below)
• The MAGURA MT5 eSTOP brake lever is reversible or flip-flop, so you can use it on your left or right hand
• The MAGURA MT5 eSTOP lever offers the possibility of adjusting the distance of the lever from the handlebar with a torx T25 wrench

Brake caliper

• MAGURA MT5 eSTOP 4-piston caliper has silver piston nuts
• the caliper is equipped with magnetic Xchange pistons, so there is no need to use a spacer spring between the plates
• swivel brake hose connection with torx T25 wrench
• Post Mount or PM mounting of the brake caliper
• the caliper is supplied with MAGURA 8.S pads or a model with Sport compound
• This is a pad model where each pad is individually mounted on the caliper piston
• MAGURA Sport compound is designed for high temperature loads on electric bikes
• the caliper is made of a single piece of aluminium and there is no loss of power as with a split caliper
• M6 screws for attaching the caliper to the frame or fork (using a torx T25 wrench) are also included

Hose

• brake is supplied with Kevlar hydraulic hose
• the length of the unshortened hose is 2200mm
• parts for shortening the hose to the required length are also included

Type od disc and weight

• MAGURA MT5 eSTOP brakes are supplied with MDR-P CL brake discs resp. with Center Lock mounting
• The MDR-P CL disc is equipped with an internal aluminium sleeve, which prevents vibrations and high temperature differences at the edge and centre of the disc
• The MDR-P CL disc provides a noticeable reduction in vibration, especially if you run 29" wheels with higher tread patterns
• Thanks to the aluminium carrier and the greater amount of mass compared to the MDR-C or STORM HC disc, you also achieve better cooling and thus a more stable braking effect
• Disc weight: 226g/pc (203mm)

Brake weight

• weight of 1 pc of brake is 255g including full length of hose, without disc and fixing M6 screws

Package includes:

• 2x complete MAGURA MT5 eSTOP brake (including olives and mandrels for shortening the hose and also screws for caliper mounting)
• 2x MAGURA MDR-P CL 203mm disc (including tightening nut on wheel hub)

Shiffter mounts (not included in package):

• brakes can be combined with SRAM or SHIMANO shifter mounts (it is necessary to buy directly MAGURA Shiftmix)
• Shimano iSpec I and iSpec II = MAGURA Shiftmix 1+2
• Shimano iSpec EV = MAGURA Shiftmix 4
• Sram Matchmaker = MAGURA Shiftmix 3

Important notice!

For correct instalation please read the manual delivered with the brake!
For proper instalation of the lever is necessary to mount the brake clamp correctly - with the arrows on the clamp (pointing up). There is necessary to tight the upper bolt on clamp so it touches the brake lever body without any gap! Than tight the bottom bolt to the maximum 4Nm! There will be small gap on bottom between the clamp and brake body. Overtightening can cause damage of the brake clamp or lever body! This overtightening is not covered with the warranty!

5-Year leak proof warranty

Magura offers 5 year leak proof guarantee! MAGURA grants the FIRST BUYER a 5-year leak proof guarantee on brake masters, calipers and cylinders if the brake is mounted on a bicycle as original equipment or has been purchased from a dealer as a retrofit. The guarantee is valid for five years from the date of purchase. Registration for the 5-year leak proof guarantee is not necessary.
