Brake caliper HOPE RX2, Flat Mount 34mm, grey

The RX2 brake calipers are a compact version of the RX4+ brake caliper. The RX2 caliper is designed specifically for bikes with drop bars, such as road, gravel bikes, but also for MTB XC bikes with Flat Mount mounting. The HOPE RX2 caliper is optimized for narrow rear frame designs, especially for smaller bike frame sizes. The HOPE RX2 caliper is equipped with a bleed screw with an internal hole for a small nut-shaped bleed nipple (the nipple does not need to be screwed into the caliper) for easier and cleaner maintenance and bleeding. The RX2 caliper has the same performance as the larger HOPE RX4+ caliper, but is designed for lower thermal loads (due to its reduced size = lower thermal conductivity and heat dissipation). The caliper weighs only 94g (including pads and accessories).

Brake caliper

• the HOPE RX2 caliper is designed as an upgrade option for your existing brake levers
• the HOPE RX2 caliper is available in versions for mineral oil and DOT brake fluid
• despite its more compact design, the RX2 has the same characteristics (response and power modulation) as its larger sibling, the HOPE RX4+.
• the caliper is designed for 140, 160, and 180 mm discs (depending on the Flat Mount adapter used) on both the front and rear wheels
• the HOPE RX2 caliper is equipped with a bleed screw with an internal hole for a small nut-shaped bleed nipple (the nipple does not need to be screwed into the caliper) for easier and cleaner maintenance and bleeding (will delight the heart of every mechanic)
• slim 2-piston design even lighter than the RX4+ caliper
• one-piece metal construction creates a stiffer caliper that increases braking performance
• the caliper is equipped with large 2x phenolic pads with a diameter of 22 mm
• the pads can be removed from the caliper from both the top and bottom
• the caliper is made from a single piece of CNC-machined 2014 T6 aluminum
• improved straight connection of the HOPE brake hose
• pads are included in the package 2 types of pads (Road blue + All Conditions red)

Weight

• HOPE RX2 Flat Mount caliper 34 mm = 66 g (without pads and bolts)
• HOPE pads = 22g (spacer spring + locking screw in caliper + R-clip)
• Hose connection fitting = 5g (olive + hose barb + shroud nut + copper seal)
• Frame mounting bolts = 14g

Connecting and installing the hose to the HOPE RX4+ caliper

Before connecting the HOPE RX2 caliper, remove the original caliper and hose fitting from the caliper. Always use original HOPE fittings to connect the hose to the HOPE RX2 caliper! The hose fitting for connecting the hose to the caliper is included in the caliper package. Install the HOPE fitting on the original hose and connect it to the caliper according to the instructions supplied with the caliper. If you are unsure, have the caliper installed by a professional service center or your HOPE brake dealer!

HOPE Flat Mount Adapter Selection

HOPE RX2 brake calipers are compatible with all HOPE Flat Mount adapters of types X, Y, and Z. Adapters for mounting on the fork/frame of the bike are not included in the package! Caliper compatibility for mineral oil

The components for the RX4+ mineral oil caliper are always marked in red (e.g. in the spare parts schedule). The syringe seal supplied in the package with the caliper is also marked in red. The caliper for mineral oil has the letter M engraved on the piston and is compatible with brake models:
