Brake pads HAYES Dominion A4, T4, sintered T100, steel backing plate
HAYES Dominion T100 brake pads with sintered compound and steel base are the ideal choice for riders looking for the most durable brake pads for the toughest conditions. Thanks to the sintered compound, these pads provide excellent braking performance in wet, mud, high temperatures and at high speeds. The steel base can absorb/accumulate more of the heat produced during braking and prevents overheating of the brakes during hard braking, however it is slightly heavier compared to the aluminum option. The HAYES T100 pads are a great choice for enduro, freeride and downhill riding where strong braking performance with long life is needed in all conditions.
- brake pads HAYES sintered compound T100
- Standard steel can accumulate heat better than aluminum, is more durable but also heavier
- Sintered or metallic compound is designed for high durability and the toughest conditions
- T100 sintered compound pads provide excellent braking performance in wet, mud, high temperatures and at high speeds
- pads are designed for e.g. enduro, freeride and downhill riding/bikes
- WARNING: metallic HAYES pads will make a squeaking sound when braking (due to the high metallic content)
Contents of the package
- 1x set of HAYES pads for 1 brake
- 1x locking screw (HAYES King Pin)
- 1x spacer spring between the pads

Brake pads bedding process
To achieve maximum braking performance, all newly fitted pads need to be run in, an important process that should not be skipped! If the pads are not seated, the pad surface can "glass", which seriously affects the frictional properties of the pads and leads to a deterioration in braking performance.
To ensure that the pads are seized, drive at a moderate speed (20-30km/h), ideally down a gentle slope. Apply the brake gently, without trying to come to a complete stop, and then release it. Allow the bike to regain speed to give it time to cool down and prevent the brake system from getting too hot. Repeat the process several times. You should feel a gradual increase in braking power each time you apply the brake. Stop the process once you have achieved good braking performance (it will not continue to increase). Generally this process will take about 20-30 repetitions of the above procedure.
CAUTION! Sintered pads take much longer to break in than organic or semi-metallic compound (resin) pads. Keep this in mind when purchasing sintered compound pads and extend the break-in time to at least 50+ runs and stop the above procedure! Generally, the more durable the pad compound, the longer the run-in time. Brakes will reach their full to potential after a few runs!
